What a dental implant is
It is a small titanium post placed in the bone where the missing root used to be. Over time the bone fuses with it, creating a firm base on which we fit the final crown. An implant can replace a single tooth, several teeth, or support a full denture.
Digital planning before we start
Before placing any implant we study your case with X-rays and, where needed, a 3D image of the bone. That tells us exactly how much bone there is, where the nerves and sinuses lie and the precise position for each implant. This planning makes surgery more accurate and, in most cases, shorter and easier to recover from.

How the process works
The implant is placed under local anaesthetic. Then comes a healing period of a few months while the bone bonds to the implant; in the meantime you wear a temporary if you need one. Once it has integrated, we take records and fit the final crown. We explain each stage and its timing at diagnosis.

What if I do not have enough bone?
In many cases the bone can be regenerated before or during implant placement. We assess this with the 3D image and explain your options.
