The first visit
A first check-up is recommended around the first birthday or when the first teeth come through. At that visit we hardly do anything: we get to know your child, take a simple look at their mouth and give you tips on hygiene and diet. The aim is for them to get used to the clinic before any treatment is ever needed.
Prevention for baby teeth
Even though they fall out, baby teeth matter: they hold the space for the adult teeth, and a cavity in them can hurt and become infected just the same. That is why we do regular check-ups, apply fluoride when appropriate and seal the grooves of the molars to protect them from decay.
If a cavity does appear, we treat it with fillings suited to baby teeth, calmly and explaining to your child what we are doing in words they understand.
Keeping an eye on growth
At check-ups we also watch how the jaws are growing and how the adult teeth are coming through. That way we can spot early whether interceptive orthodontics might help, or habits worth correcting, such as prolonged dummy use or mouth breathing. A friendly setting
We have a children's waiting room and a team that knows how to adapt the pace to each child. You are welcome to stay with them in the treatment room. We speak Spanish, Catalan, English and German, so families in Sa Pobla who speak another language at home can be sure their child understands us.
